BAYBORO - The West Craven boys soccer team avenged its loss to Pamlico with a 4-2 victory over the Hurricanes on the road Thursday afternoon.

Sean Droese and Jonathan Salazar each scored two goals to lead the Eagles (1-1) to their first-ever victory.

"It was awesome," coach Dana Steele said. "Our goalie made a couple of great saves, one on a free kick, that really kept us ahead. The whole team played well. Pamlico is a very good team."

After the Eagles took a 2-0 lead, Pamlico's Luis Jacome scored in the 36th minute to make it 2-1 at the break. Once again, West Craven scored two quick goals in the second half and the Hurricanes got a late tally from Christian Fuentes in the 73rd minute.
